>"Pre-Revolutionary Dutch Houses and Families in Northern New Jersey and

>The Holland Society of New York in a limited edition of 334 copies, 1936,

>Reprinted in 1968 by Dover Publications. [Southern New
>York in this case means Brooklyn and Rockland County, New York.]
The book catalogs pre-Revolutionary houses built by the Dutch or with
strong Dutch influences and still standing as of about 1930 in the area
now encompassed by Brooklyn, New York; Union, Essex, Passaic, Bergen,
Monmouth, Hudson, and a few other counties of northern New Jersey; and
Rockland County, New York. Manhattan is omitted because no early Dutch
houses survived redevelopment. Along with each house are notes on the
builder or builders plus their ancestors and offspring including
spouses and dates, in many cases well into the 19th century. Most were
Dutch, some were Huguenot, and a few are actually of English descent.
But the book mentions Pieter Janse, the Lefferts clan, the Mabie clan,
a few Secords, many Van Nesses (from which I descend), the Vanderbilts,
the Wyckoffs (aka Van Norden), and probably several the others you
listed.
You may not find a copy in St. Joseph's but you might in either St.
Louis or Kansas City, if either one has a good genealogical library. I
saw an original copy, one of the 334 original edition, for sale at a
local used book store but for about $300 about two months ago if my
memory serves me correctly. I have a copy of the 1968 Dover reprint, if
you want some specific look-ups. Just drop me an email with the
specifics on which person. In many cases I may be better off Xeroxing
one or more pages for you and dropping them in the mail.
