Doug Moore kindly gave me some information on the Samuel MOORE(md to Nancy
DENTON) line in connection with my MOSS lines. It merges and completes
some of my odds and ends.
He gives me John MOSS, md to Lucy, (see census below) and I believe him to
be the brother to my James MOSS(m to Mary PENNINGTON), but no proof, these
two MOSS'S were b in KY and others in Clay/Jackson were born VA.
Also the Samuel MOORE is supposed to be a brother to my Gilly Moore and so
there is a connection there as Gilly MOORE's daughter Cyntha SMITH married
George Washington CLANCY(my direct line).
Grandson of Samuel MOORE, Samuel AH MOORE, married Sarah DENTON and
Elizabeth MOSS(2nd m), Elizabeth is dau of John MOSS and Lucy mentioned
above.
Grandson of Gilly MOORE SMITH, James KP CLANCY(son of GW CLANCY and Cyntha
SMITH) married Ardile MOSS, dau of James MOSS and Mary PENNINGTON.
Roxanna MOORE, dau of Samuel AH MOORE and Sarah DENTON MOORE, married
Andrew Jay MOSS, son of John MOSS and Lucy. Andrew Jay MOSS is brother to
Elizabeth MOSS who married Samuel AH MOORE.
One more belief put forth and I believe the census data below shows it--
This is Especially for Doug MOORE-- Martha MOSS, the daughter of John MOSS
and Lucy, and the Martha MOSS who married Elijah CLANCY for a second
marriage are the **same** Martha MOSS. The Martha Moss, dau of John Moss,
was b abt1844 KY per census records. The Martha MOSS m to Elijah CLANCY
was b 1/15/1845 per cem records. She was 25 and he was 48. There was a
child George Debrile CLANCY b March 1870 and they were married June 1870.
Elijah CLANCY committed suicide before Oct 1871, and a child was born
Drucilla CLANCY 11/9/1871 to Martha MOSS CLANCY. Martha CLANCY and
children George D and Dora(Drucilla) are listed in the 1880 census with
Leucy(Lucy) and Martha is given as Daughter, and children are given as
grandchildren.
Elijah CLANCY's first wife was Hannah PLUMLEE dau of ?
Elijah CLANCY is the brother of George Washington CLANCY. GW Clancy's son
James KP CLANCY m Ardile MOSS, dau of James MOSS.

4. Where in KY? Probably Barren or Monroe Co, KY as these MOSS and CLANCY
families seem to float back and forth from Moss Twp and Tompkinsville, KY.
