In searching for his parents I've looked in various Huron county, Ohio,
sources and family reunion material with no success.
The book Descendants of Cornelis Aertsen Van Schaick (Melwood Van Scoyoc,
1982), gives his parents as
Abraham Van Scoy (1760-1844) Westchester county, NY
Abigail Slokum (c 1770 - c 1789)
and his grandparents as
Abraham Van Scoy (1731-1837) Long Island; Westchester county; Yates co.
Priscilla Wanser (1734-1796)
This book says that the "middle" of these three Abrahams (1760-1844)
in his will named his [second] wife Hannah and his daughter Rebecca Hambelton,
with no mention of other children.
So, I'm stumped on the problem of linking my Abraham (1788-1849) with these
previous generations. Can anyone suggest to me where to look for evidence
of the identify of his parents?
