Does anyone have a Queens phone book?
With all the recent mergers of various Lutheran groups it may be difficult
to follow Steinfield, but there is a Lutheran version of an R.C. diocese
centered in/around NYC. Try them [NYC phone book] and see what their
records show.
Do we have any NYC/LI/Westchester Lutherans on line?
Steinway [the piano people] had a large piano factory in the section of
Astoria, known as Steinway. Steinfield might be a combination name of
Steinway and ----- field?
Astoria, etc. were all part of the old Town of Newtown, until ca. 1870
when the western part of Newtown was formed into the City of Long Island
City. LIC came to an end as a city on 12-31-1897 when it was annexed to
NYC as part of the Borough of Queens.
