It appears that you included some text after your mailing list
request.

Please try to SUBSCRIBE or UNSUBSCRIBE again and make sure there is
not text after it.  Some mail client automatically add your
".signature" after your message.  Turn that off before trying again.

Don't reply to the message, but create a new message.  (If the mailing
list software sees a message to it with a subject line beginning with
Re:, it doesn't get processed, but sent to me directly)
