Marva---

Have tried twice to reply directly to your e-mail address re: your
Benjamin Moore and twice the message was returned as
"undeliverable." So I hope other Moore readers will forgive this means
to try to contact you.

I have been looking for the parents of Eva Ruth Moore who was born 3
September 1820 in Muskingum County, OH. She had a brother, Tom,
and it is said they were orphaned at "an early age." Eva Ruth married
Jame McFarling 1 September 1842 in Mskingum County. They were
found in the 1850 census in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and a couple of years
later moved to Napa County, California. She died 1 September 1894 in
Napa County.

James McFarling's father was Ralph McFarland and he was born
1784/1790 in northern Virginia, probably in Shenandoah County. His
wife, Margaret McKnight, has ties to Loudoun County, which I see you
give as possible birth place of Benjamin Moore. James moved to
Belmont County, Ohio by 1826, and his brother Obediah moved to
Muskingum County by 1830, Perry township. I see a Benjamin Moore
in Newton township, Muskingum County in 1840 with McFarlands
nearby.

It looks as though Eva Ruth Moore cannot be the daughter of your
Benjamin Moore, but she is certainly of an age to be a niece of your
Benjamin. Do you know anything more about Benjamin that might tie
in with any of my information?
