I am looking for information about the ancestors of Rachel Moore, daughter
of Isaac Moore and Sally Smalley. Rachel's paternal grandfather was John
Moore who lived near Patterson NJ in the early to mid-1700s. (Please note,
her grandfather had a son, John Moore Jr., who had a daughter Rachel Moore
also.)
Issac Moore had 7 children by his first wife, Sally Smalley, and he had 10
children by his second wife, Lydia Bedell. If you need more names (no pun
intended!) I can provide them.
Isaac Moore and Sally Smalley lived in Passaic Valley, in Warren Township,
Sommerset County, NJ.
Rachel Moore married Garret Vreeland of Acquackanak, NJ. late-1700s.
I found this information in the book "Early Records or Genealogies of the
First Settlers of Passaic Valley (and vicinity)" by John Littell, 1852.
This book I found at the Holland Society library in NYC. Unfortunately, it
does not contain many dates and I've had to make reasonalbe estimations
based on related info.
I'd be greatly appreciative for any info you have to share.
