I am seeking information about William Edward Moore (1736-1821). He is
reported to have come to North Carolina as an orphan and as a small boy. He
was reared by his uncle James Moore who was married to a daughter of Captain
Arthur Cotton. William married Elizabeth Dickinson (d. 1818). Their children
were James Wright Moore, Stephen Lawrence (d.1833), Edward William,
Washington, and Mary Ballard. William died a wealthy man in North Carolina.

Does anyone have any information about William Edward Moore's parentage and
ancestors?
