VETERAN DIES,

| McKAY, Joseph (Grampie) - 98, 154 Lakeland St., Beaverbank, formerly of Little Harbour, Halifax County, died November 27, 1994, in Camp Hill Medical Center. Born at Little Harbour, he was a son of the late Alexander and Angeline (ShelnutGerrard) McKay. He was a member of St. John Vianney Parish, Lower Sackville and Sackville Legion Vimy branch 162. He is survived by daughters, Anne-Marie Zwicker, Beaverbank; Betty (Mrs. Steve Freeman), Quincy, Mass.; Mary (Mrs. Kevin Stewart), Lower Sackville; Marian (Mrs. Roger Scriven), Dartmouth; Stella (Mrs. Joseph Cooper), Ella, both of Halifax; sons, Valentine, Gabriel, both of Clam Harbour; Michael, Little Harbour; Patrick, Halifax; 18 grandchildren; sisters, Ethel (Mrs. Gordon Stevens), Lake Echo; Dorothy (Mrs. Arthur Drake), Musquodoboit Harbour; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Angela Mary Cox; sisters, Mary, Millie, Stella, Hilda; brothers, Sam, Jim, Matthew, Clyde, John, Lawrence, Aubrey, Herbie, infant twin John. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Rowlings Funeral Home, Musquodoboit Harbour. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Philip Neri Church, Musquodoboit Harbour, Rev. Raymond Mura and Rev. Owen Connolly officiating. Burial will be in St. Anne's Cemetery, Debaie's Cove. Family flowers only by request. Donations may be made to St. John Vianney building fund. | |
