John Parr Esq. Lieutenant Governor and Commander in Chief in and over His Majesty's Province of Nova Scotia and its Defenders, Vice Admiral of the same &etc,&etc, &etc
To Stephen Jones & John Taylor Esq., Greetings
Whereas it is necessary that proper persons should be appointed to locate settlers on both sides of the River Sissiboo.
I have therefore thought proper to appoint you the said Stephen Jones and John Taylor to locate settlers on both sides of the River of Sissiboo aforesaid, which settlers shall hereafter receive Licences of Occupation,

Given under my Hand and Seal at Halifax this 5th day of March 1791 in the thirty first year of His Majesty's Reign

Page 85 Halifax, 16 October 1795 Whereas it has been represented to me that the above mentioned persons have been in possession and made considerable improvements and many houses and barns erected and persons resident thereon in conformity to permission granted to them by the late Lieutenant Governor Parr under his Hand and Seal according to a Survey and plan thereof returned unto the Surveyor Generals Office for this Province, I do hereby consider that the above persons having settled on the premises and expended their time and means in cultivation thereof under the faith of the Government are equitably and reasonably entitled to the full benefits thereof. Therefore they and each of them have my full consent to remain upon and occupy the premises and my full assurance that as soon as His Majesty's Instructions shall enable and authorize me to grant Land, I will as far as in me lies, expedite and give a complete and regular Grant of Patent to them for the same according to law. Halifax 17th October 1795
