Surviving are daughter, Anne (Mrs. Ellis BOUDREAU), West Gore, Hants Co.; sister, Yvonne (Mrs. Jaques VENNE), Concession, Digby Co.; brothers, Alphonse (Norma), Yarmouth; Giles (Diane), Shad Bay, Halifax Co.; four grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Adrien LEBLANC; daughter, Anita; brothers, Theodore, Victor, Benedict, Raymond. Visitation in Jayne's Funeral Home, 7 Birch St., Digby. Born Feb. 24, 1914, in Meteghan, he was a son of the late Louis H. and Nathalie "Nettie" (THIBODEAU) COMEAU. He was a member of Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Meteghan. A past member of Meteghan Lions Club, part owner of L.H. Comeau & Sons Ltd. and Saint Mary's Bay Fisheries. He received his education at Stella Maris School, Meteghan; College Ste. Anne, Church Point and Department of Fisheries, Halifax. He was an avid card player. Surviving are son, Earl (Paulette) COMEAU, Meteghan; daughters, Linda (Blair) BOUDREAU, Lower Wedgeport; Glenda (DelbE) COMEAU, Eastern Passage; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie Rose; a daughter in infancy; brothers, Joseph, Ambroise, Andre and Ambroise, both in infancy; sisters, Adeline, Marianne. Visitation in Meteghan Funeral Home. She was a resident of Malden, Mass., for over 30 years and of Nova Scotia for 29 years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America for over 45 years and was involved in the parish of St. Joseph's in Maplewood. She was a member of St. Mary's Church choir, a reader and also part of the prayer's group all in Church Point. She was also a member of Les Femmes Acadiennes, Les Dames Patronesses and Les Dames Paroissiales. Surviving are sons, Joe (Helena), Paul (Alison), both of St. Joseph; daughter, Celeste (Jerry), Church Point; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild. He was a graduate of University Ste.-Anne and University of Laval, QuEbec, where he obtained his medical degree. He was a post-graduate of Burgess Hospital, Kalamazoo, Michigan. He then returned to Weymouth, to practice medicine for 44 years. He was a member of the Medical Society of Nova Scotia, Canadian Medical Association. He was the former Medical Examiner of Digby County and formerly attending physician at Digby General Hospital. He was part of La Fanfare at UniversitE Sainte-Anne for eight years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Conseil Sigogne 6348 and honorary member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Weymouth Branch 67. He enjoyed music. Surviving are his wife, the former Louise BELLIVEAU, Weymouth; sons, Jacques (Anna D'ALESSIO), Concession; Michel, New Edinburgh; Marc (Tina), Fort Point Road; daughters, Suzanne (Thomas) MACLEAN, Weymouth; Josette (David) KING, Weymouth Mills; seven grandchildren. She was a past noble grand and past district deputy of Zelma Rebekah Lodge, Digby and a member of the Good Neighbours Club, Clementsport. She was an order office manager of Sears for 20 years, retiring in June, 1978. Since then she enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens during the summer and busy quilting in the winter. Surviving are her son, Malcolm (wife Muriel), Mount Pleasant; daughter, Evelyn HERSEY (husband Roy), Marshalltown, Digby Co.; sisters, Ada BURNS (husband John), Lena FAIRN (husband Billy), both of Moschelle, Annapolis Co.; brothers, Earle "Buster", Moschelle, Annapolis Co.; James, Oshawa, Ont.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Visiting will be today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with prayers at 8 p.m., in Jayne's Funeral Home, Weymouth North. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Doucetteville, Father Larry Pitcher will officiate, with burial in the parish cemetery. Born in Central Grove, Digby Co., he was a son of the late Eldred and Pearl (HERSEY) GUIER. He was a member of Sandy Cove United Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching baseball. Surviving are his wife, the former Betty PERRY; daughter, Karen GUIER, Saint John, N.B.; sons, Kevin, Freeport, Digby Co.; Steven, Deep Brook, Annapolis Co.; Perry, Pubnico; sisters, Emma OUTHOUSE, Digby; Hilda (Mrs. Malcolm GREENLAW), Tiverton, Digby Co.; brothers, Orland, Central Grove; Lloyd, Tiverton; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren. Visitation in Jayne's Funeral Home, 7 Birch St., Digby. Funeral was Friday, June 28 in Freeport United Baptist Church, Pastor Muriel FRANKLAND and Rev. Robert MACCORMACK officiating. GAUDET, Edward J. "Eddie" - 82, Meteghan Station, died Wednesday, June 26, 2002, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Hassett, he was a son of the late Amede and Madeline (DOUCETTE) GAUDETT. He was a veteran of the Second World War, having served in England, France, Holland, Belgium and Germany. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Weymouth, Branch 67, for 45 years. After the war, he worked in the woods, sawmill and shipyard. He also drove a school bus for 20 years for the Municipality of Clare. Surviving are sisters, Ida SABEAN, Weaver Settlement; Emma Ford, Ohio. He was predeceased by brothers, Rene "Joe", Ernest, Alphonse; sister, Pauline. Visitation in Meteghan Funeral Home. Funeral was Friday, June 28 in Stella Maris Church, Meteghan, Rev. Gerald LEBLANC officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

He worked all of his life as a logger and fish cutter. For the past few years, he was well-known for processing smoked fish and bacon. Surviving are his wife, Yvonne; son, Michael, at home; daughters, Odette (Randall) PRIME, St. Bernard; Alice (John) JACQUARD, St. Joseph; Nadine (David) THIBODEAU, St. Joseph; Carmen (Jody) GUEST, St. Bernard; brother, Benjamin, Seabrook, Digby; sister, Clara THERIAULT, St. Bernard; grandson, Daniel. He was predeceased by his brother, Pius. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Meteghan Funeral Home. Funeral was Tuesday, July 2, in St. Bernard Church, St. Bernard, Rev. Clovis CHIASSON officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
