Sandy Land Cemetery, Walton Woods Road, Cogmagun, West Hants County, Nova Scotia.
Cemetery headstone inscriptions.
Transcribed October 2001 by Harry L. Reynolds

Click to enlarge Sandy Land Cemetery is located on the western side of the Walton Woods Road, immediately south of the Cogmagun River Bridge. The cemetery is less than one kilometre, northward, from the corner of the Walton Woods Road and the Cogmagun Road. It was formerly known, locally, as the Sanford / Reynolds Cemetery. There remains ample off-road parking before the main gate. The cemetery is fenced with a latched pedestrian gate to the right of the chain-locked vehicle gate. The name is found written across the main vehicle gates.

The cemetery contains many unmarked graves as well as a considerable number of graves marked by ordinary rocks with no inscriptions.

Surnames include: ADAMS, BOYD, CARD, CROSS, FLYNN, GILLOTT, HARVEY, HENNESSEY, HERX, HIGNEY, HOOD, JOLLYMORE, KEDDY, KELLY, LEONARD, McKENZIE, OULTON, PARKER, PEARL, PORTER, POWER, REYNOLDS, ROSS, SALTER, SANDERSON, SANFORD, SHAW, SIDEY, TEARE, THOMAS, USHER.
