Descendants of Charles Boyd of Hants County, Nova Scotia.

I am researching my family roots and several of my lines have led to Nova Scotia. The one with a direct link to Hants county is through my great grandparents Edward James Greenwood (b 1860 d 1933) and Sarah Boyd . Sarah Boyd was born in either Windsor or Windsor Forks in between 1869-1872 she died in 1942 in Waltham, Massachusetts. Her parents were Charles Boyd and Julia Burke. I have located their names (I think) on the 1871 Hants county census index so generously compiled by Leland Harvie. Edward James Greenwood was born in England and emigrated to Nova Scotia and married Sarah Boyd some time around the turn of the century. They later emigrated to Waltham, Massachusetts where they had my grandfather Charles Greenwood (b 1904 d 1972) and five more children. On my mothers side I have at least two lines (Harvey and McKay) that run through Nova Scotia. I do not have much info on the Harvey side, but according to family tradition and from the data I have managed to accumulate, John McKay, my ggggrandfather, is the younger brother of Donald McKay the clipper ship builder.

1. CHARLES¹ BOYD¹ was born 1839. He married JULIA BURKE² in Nova Scotia, Canada. She was born 1848.

2. SARAH² BOYD (CHARLES¹) was born 1869 in Windsor, Nova Scotia, Canada³, and died September 09, 1942 in Waltham, Massachusetts³. She married EDWARD JAMES GREENWOOD in Nova Scotia, Canada, son of EDWARD GREENWOOD and MARTHA LANCASTER. He was born April 15, 1860 in Burnley, Lancashire, England³, and died May 19, 1933 in New Bedford, Massachusetts³.
