GEIZER, Stanley
- a farmer residing at Ardoise, passed away at the P. M.
Hospital on Thursday, from injuries received while engaged at
work on his farm Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Geizer was mowing, and
in order to adjust some part, stepped off the machine in front
of the cutting bar. The horses started and he was struck by the
bar, lacerating both legs badly, also being dragged a
considerable distance before the horses were brought to a stop.
First aid was immediately rendered by Mrs. R. Parnell, a trained
nurse home on vacation, and the injured man was brought to the
P. M. Hospital. Here his right leg was amputated, and it was
thought probable the left lag would also have to be amputated as
the bone was completely severed. Grave fears for Mr. Geizer's
recovery were entertained and these were well founded for on
Thursday he passed away. He is survived by a wife, two sons and
three daughters. The remains were forwarded to Halifax where the
funeral was held Saturday afternoon from the residence of his
sister, Mrs. B. C. Cruickshanks. Mr. Geizer came from Dutch
Village to Ardoise about two years ago and with his brother
operated a farm.
