STUART, Mrs. P.
B. - TRURO, May 3 - The death occurred on Tuesday, April
9th, of Edith Maud, wife of Peter B. Stuart, Upper Nine Mile
River, Hants County, after an illness of several weeks. The late
Mrs. Stuart, was born in Seaforth, Halifax County, in June 1881,
eldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Nieforth. Earlier
years were spent in North Alton, Kings County, and she also
taught school in Kings and Hants Counties. After her marriage,
she lived in Timmons and Gowganda, Ontario, for a number of
years, then returned to Nova Scotia. Quiet and unassuming, a
true Christian character, she was ever steadfast in her faith in
the Bible. Surviving besides her husband, are an adopted
daughter, Mrs. Ada McAvoy, and grandson, Eddie; three sisters,
Mrs. Effie Spicer, Harborville, Kings County; Mrs. Cora Geary,
Methuen, Mass.; Mrs. Florence Parker, Truro Heights, and one
brother, Walter, Waterville, who was ill in hospital with
pneumonia and unable to attend the funeral. Funeral service was
held at the house Friday, April 12th, by Mr. Charles Stewart,
Halifax, who spoke words of comfort and hope to the relatives
and friends gathered there. Pallbearers were - Silas McPhee,
Fulton Reid, Orin Parker, and Melburne McPhee. Interment in Sand
Hill Cemetery, Upper Nine Mile River.

McELHINEY, Ella
Ruth - News of the death of Mrs. William McElhiney in
Toronto was received in Windsor on Wednesday by her brother, Mr.
F.A. Roach. Of a family of eight, four sons and four daughters,
the surviving members are Mrs. Addy Swarts, Boston, Mass., and
Frank A., in Windsor. Mrs. McElhiney, the former Ella Roach, was
the wife of William McElhiney, also a former Windsorian, and
following the Windsor fire of 1897 they resided in North Sydney,
later going to Toronto in which city they have made their home
for many years. Besides her husband, one daughter and two sons
survive, Mrs. Pember (Madeline), Toronto, and William and George
in Hamilton. The funeral was held in Toronto on Saturday.
