BLOIS, Ernest
H. - retired Deputy Minister of Public Welfare and former
Judge of the Juvenile Court passed away at Halifax last night
after a lingering illness. Mr. Blois retired from public affairs
last year after completing 40 years of welfare work in the
province. Born at Gore, Hants County, he attended Dalhousie
University and taught in provincial schools, after which he
became superintendent of the Halifax Industrial School. He is
survived by his widow, the former Jennie MacMillan, of Sheet
Harbour; one daughter, (Alfreda) Mrs. G. C. Lawrence, of Deep
River, Ontario; two sons, Ernest and Robert, both at home. Also
surviving are two sisters, Mrs. E. A. Corbin, of Halifax, and
Mrs. E. J. Whitman, of California; and two brothers, H. H. Blois,
of Halifax, and William Blois, of Gore. Funeral arrangements
have not yet been completed and will be announced later.

SCOTT, Mrs.
John A. - Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B. Murphy
in Cambridge, Mass. She was born in 1860 in Upper Rawdon, the
daughter of the late John and Sarah Marie Fenton. She is
survived by four daughters, two sons, nine grandchildren and 12
great-grandchildren. The daughters are: Vinie, Mrs. B. Murphy;
Maude, Mrs. West and Lena, all of Cambridge and Goldie, Mrs. E.
Brown of Willow Street, Halifax. The sons are, John in South
Lancaster, Mass., and Morris, in Toronto. The funeral was held
Tuesday.

RAFUSE,
Clarence Clifford - There passed away at the Kentville
Sanatorium, on Monday, April 26, Clifford Clarence Rafuse, 39
years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Rafuse, of Upper Vaughan.
Deceased had been a patient there for over a year. He was well
liked by all who knew him, always had a smile for everyone. He
is survived by his parents, eight brothers, Donald, Clark,
Robert, Max, Markus, Samuel, Harold and Floyd, and two sisters,
Mildred (Mrs. Percy Levy), Vaughan and Ruby (Mrs. Herbert
Foreman), Halifax. The funeral was held from the home of his
parents, the following Thursday at 2 pm. Rev. A. E. Todd
delivered the message assisted by Rev. G. M. Wilson, Windsor.
Interment at Upper Vaughan Baptist Cemetery.
