HANSON, Maurice
Clyde - MAYOR OF WINDSOR PASSES AWAY - Windsor, Feb. 19,
1950 - The Mayor of Windsor, Maurice Clyde Hanson passed away
today at his home. He was in his 74th year and had been in
ailing health since last September. He was a son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Thomas Hanson, Falmouth. He is survived by his wife,
Annie Etta, one daughter, Betty, two sons, Donald and Roland all
at home; one daughter by a previous marriage, Edith (Mrs. Gordon
Farnsworth), Auburn; one sister, Miss Laura Hanson, Rochester,
NY; and four brothers, William, Digby; George, Amherst; James,
Falmouth; and Herbert, Windsor. One granddaughter, Eleanor (Mrs.
Philip Nixon), Kentville, also survives. Interment will take
place in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor.

DALRYMPLE, Mrs.
Fred - There passed away at her home, Hardwood Lands,
Louise, wife of Fred Dalrymple, at the age of 66 years. Mrs.
Dalrymple entered the Victoria General Hospital a few days
before Christmas. She returned home in January, but her
condition gradually became worse. Mrs. Dalrymple was the
daughter of the late Walter and Mary Horne, and was born at
Enfield. Surviving are, beside her husband, three sons, Arthur
and Harold at home; Walter, Dedham, Mass.; four brothers, Arthur
and Joe, Halifax; Dave, Oldham and Gordon, Moncton; four sisters
(Mary) Mrs. Bert Moore, Boston; (Grace) Mrs. Harry Farmer,
Sydney; (Gladys) Mrs. William Pounder and Ada of Halifax.
Funeral service was held from her home with Rev. Mr. Beverage of
Elmsdale conducting the service. Pall bearers were Richmond and
Cecil Fraser, Berlis Gibbon, Walter Withrow, Erwin Gallant and
Bud Gardner. Interment was in the Sandy Hill cemetery.

HAZEL, William
Havelock - WINDSOR, March 21 - The death occurred today at
his home in Scotch Village of William Havelock Hazel. He was 80
years of age and had been in failing health for a short time. A
carpenter by trade, he worked for a number of years in Western
Canada, Vancouver and several parts of the United States. He was
active in Baptist Church work. Born in Canning, he was the
eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hazel. He was a
member of Century Lodge, IOOF, Centre-Burlington, for over 40
years and was presented with a 40-year jewel two years ago.
Besides his wife, the former Laura Girtrudge Pineo, he is
survived by four daughters, Ruby (Mrs. Herman Benedict),
Weymouth, Mass; Edyth (Mrs. Earl Barkhouse), Stanley; Emily
(Mrs. Maurice Barkhouse), Windsor; and Elida (Mrs. Edmund
Barkhouse), Upper Burlington; three sons, Earl, in Noti, Oregon;
Evern, in Milton, Mass; and Emory, Scotch Village. Also
surviving are four brothers, Andrew and Warren, Scotch Village;
Clarence, in Walton; Roy, in Centralia, Washington. One sister,
Mrs. M DeWitt and three brothers, Wentworth, Spencer and Ernest
predeceased him. Surviving are 26 grandchildren. The remains are
resting at Lindsay's Funeral Home, Windsor and will be taken to
Scotch Village Baptist Church for a funeral service Thursday
afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. R. Simms, assisted by Rev. Arthur
Whiston, will officiate. Burial will be in the family lot,
Scotch Village Cemetery.

HAZEL, Mrs.
Laura Gertrude - WINDSOR, July 4 - Mrs. Laura Gertrude
Hazel, wife of the late William Hazel, passed away at the home
of her daughter, Mrs. Morris Barkhouse, Windsor. She was seventy
years of age. Mrs. Hazel was a resident of Scotch Village and
has lived in that district practically all her married life.
Born in Kings County, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Jacob Pineo, she was a faithful member and an ardent worker of
the Scotch Village United Church and took great interest in her
church and the community in which she lived. She was well known
and highly respected and will be greatly missed by all who knew
her. She is survived by four daughters, Ruby, (Mrs. Herman
Benedict) Weymouth, Mass; Edith, (Mrs. Earl Barkhouse) Stanley;
Emily, (Mrs. Morris Barkhouse) Windsor; Elida, (Mrs. Edmond
Barkhouse) Upper Burlington' three sons, Earl, Noti, Oregon;
Evern, Milton, Mass; Emery, at home; two brothers, Frank Pineo,
Lower Canard; Isaac Pineo, United States; one sister, Mrs.
Bessie Brown, Windsor. Twenty-nine grandchildren also survive.
Remains are resting at Lindsay's Funeral Home, Windsor and will
be taken to Scotch Village United Church for funeral service on
Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Arthur Whiston will
officiate. Interment in the family lot, Scotch Village cemetery.
