BEAZLEY, Grover C. - A well-known Nova Scotia educationist who for more than 30 years was associated with schools in the Dartmouth area died at his Hantsport home. Grover C. Beazley, born at Hantsport and educated at Mount Allison University, passed away suddenly. He was 63. Mr. Beazley was the son of the late Jesse and Idella Beazley of Hantsport. He attended Hantsport school and was a graduate of Mount Allison. He enlisted while at university in World War One with the Medical Corps of the Dalhousie Unit. He received his commission of Lieutenant, in England and joined the 85th Battalion, serving four years and returning to Nova Scotia in 1919. He taught school in Dartmouth for 30 years, 20 of which as a school supervisor. Upon his retirement in 1950, he returned to Hantsport, where he resided up until his death. He was a member of the St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Hantsport, and the Payntz Lodge, No. 44, A.F. and A.M. He was a member of the Lucknow Branch of the Canadian Legion and served two terms on the Hantsport Town Council. He was chairman of the Hantsport school board. He is survived by his wife, the former Ellen Smith, Stanley, Hants county; two sisters, Abbie and Annie, both of Hantsport; and one brother, John, Worcester, Mass. The remains are resting at Lohnes and Botten Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at two o'clock at Saint Andrew's Anglican Church in Hantsport. Both Canadian Legion and Masonic services will be held at graveside in Hantsport cemetery.
