Weston Wesley - SHUBENACADIE - Funeral service for Weston
Wesley Barbrick, 84, of Shubenacadie East, was held from the
Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie, Rev. A. Pitcairn
officiating. Mr. Barbrick died at the Victoria General Hospital,
Halifax. Born at Urbania, Hants County, he was [the] son of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Barbrick. At an early age he moved to
Haverhill, Mass., where he lived until his retirement two years
ago. He then came to live with his sister-in-law, Mrs. Beatrice
Barbrick in Shubenacadie. Surviving are a sister, Mildred (Mrs.
Rufus Rogers) Springhill; and two brothers, William of Toronto
and Walter of Haverhill, Mass. Interment will be in Haverhill,
Mass.

DIMOCK, William
George - WINDSOR - William George Dimock of Popular Grove,
Hants County, passed away in Payzant Memorial Hospital in
Windsor on June 12 after a lengthy illness. He was 81. Mr.
Dimock was the son of the late Benjamin and Phoebe Brown Dimock.
He was born in Poplar Grove and lived there all his life. Mr.
Dimock operated a farm until he retired five years ago. He was a
member of the United Church and of Century Lodge, IOOF, Center
Burlington. He is survived by his wife, the former Clara
Benedict of Belmont, Hants County. There were no children, but
Mr. Dimock is also survived by seven sisters, Eva (Mrs.
Farquhar) Halifax; Bessie (Mrs. Ernest Lockhart) Newport; Annie
(Mrs. Murray Fader) Windsor Forks; Miss Minnie, Roxboro, Mass.;
Lollie (Mrs. Harry Dill) Roxboro, Mass.; Freida (Mrs. Fletcher
Lockhart) Cochituate, Mass.; Sadie (Mrs. Goodell) Hartford,
Conn. One brother, Fred, predeceased him. Funeral services will
be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 from Poplar Grove United Church
with Rev. Paul Cumming officiating. Interment will be in the
Avondale Cemetery. Century Lodge IOOF will hold their services
Sunday evening at 8:00 at Lohne's Funeral Home in Windsor.

TAYLOR, Willard
Thompson - WINDSOR - Willard Thompson Taylor, 58, died
suddenly at Payzant Memorial Hospital. He was born at Parry
Sound, Ont., only son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Thomas)
Taylor. Mr. Taylor moved to Toronto as a child and after
graduating from high school worked with his father in a grocery
business. At the beginning of the Second World War, he enlisted
in the Anti-Tank Battery and trained at Camp Petawawa, Ont., as
a wireless operator. Coming to Windsor, at the holding camp for
overseas troops, he remained as an instructor. After his
discharge from the service he worked with the National Harbours
Board in Halifax, and as a part-time salesman for the Pearl Life
Insurance Co. Later he worked with T.C. Gorman Construction Co.
He was a member of the Windsor United Baptist Church and had
been a scout leader both in Petawawa and Windsor. He was also a
member of the Hants County branch of the Canadian Legion.
Besides his wife, the former Annie Davis of Wentworth, Hants
Co., he is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Elizabeth, at home.
The body is at the late residence and funeral service will be
held Tuesday, 2:30 p.m., from the United Baptist Church, Rev.
E.C. Churchill officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood
Cemetery.

RAFUSE, Edna
Mae - of Wolfville, formerly of Mosher's Corner, passed away
at the Payzant Memorial Hospital, Windsor, on Wednesday, July
29, after a short illness. She was born at Port George
seventy-one years ago, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Fritz. She resided in this place until four years ago when she
moved to Wolfville to reside with her son Earle. In 1912 she was
married to Israel Rafuse, who died in 1960. The deceased leaves
to mourn her passing, two daughters, Geneva (Mrs. Clyde Neinot),
New Albany and Ethel (Mrs. Cecil Higgins), Truro; also a son,
Earle, Wolfville; and one brother, Leigh, Port George. A sister,
Flora (Mrs. Irving Morse), Bridgewater and two brothers, Roy and
Edward, of Massachusetts all predeceased her. Funeral service
was held on Friday from the United Church of which the deceased
was a member, Rev. D. Archibald, Wolfville and Rev. J. Henderson
officiated. Interment took place in the Hillside Cemetery, Port
George.

BLOIS, Mrs.
Edna Blois - widow of Marsden Blois, died at Worcester,
Mass., November 3. She was the daughter of the late William and
Sarah Gilby, Upper Rawdon. She is survived by one son, Vernon,
Mass.; two sisters, Lalia (Mrs. Albert Moxon) Waverley; and
Myrtle (Mrs. Harry Bailey) Elmsdale; two brothers, Chester,
Upper Rawdon, and Calvin, of Truro. Seven grandchildren also
survive. She lived most of her life in the United States.
Remains will be forwarded to Withrow and MacMillan Funeral Home,
Upper Rawdon, Saturday, from where funeral services will be held
Sunday 2:30 p.m. with interment in Sand Hill Cemetery, Upper
Nine Mile River.
