MacKENZIE,
Ethel L. - 81, widow of Kenneth MacKenzie, Truro, died
Monday at the Colchester Hospital. Born at West Indian Road,
Hants County, a daughter of the late G. Thomas and Alice
(Lively) MacPhee, she was a resident of Truro for 60 years.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by one daughter, May
and one son, John. She is survived by two daughters, Alice (Mrs.
W.J. Grimstead) and Helen, Truro; three sons, Graham, Sydney;
Roy and Clyde, both of Truro; three brothers, Mosher and Howard,
both of Truro; and Clyde, Brockton, Mass. The body is at the
Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro, from where funeral services will
be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Whitney Dalrymple
officiating. Committal service will be in the Lewis Memorial
Chapel, Robie Street Cemetery.

COLBY, George
Warren - 87, of Hantsport died Friday at the Payzant
Memorial Hospital, Windsor. He was born in Hantsport, the son of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Warren Colby. He is survived by his wife,
the former Mary Fields; one son, Ralph, Hantsport; one
grandchild and two great-grandchildren. The body is at the
Lohnes Funeral Home, Windsor. Funeral service will be in St.
James United Church, Hantsport Monday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. F.
E. McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Riverbank cemetery,
Hantsport.

SANFORD, Mrs.
Mary Etta - 83, of Walton, Hants County died Saturday at the
Payzant Memorial Hospital, Windsor. Born in Summerville, she was
the daughter of the late John and Lucy (Lake) Sillman. Surviving
are five daughters, Lorena (Mrs. Bernard Perry), Ingomar; Alma
(Mrs. Ralph Jones), Blue Mountain; Audrey (Mrs. John Worr),
Cheverie; Grace (Mrs. Vernon Young), Walton; Margarie (Mrs.
Nelson Barbrick), Admiral Rock; two sons, Avon, Pembrooke;
Arnold, Walton; one sister, Ethel; 23 grandchildren; 22 great
grandchildren; three brothers, Burpee, Ralph and David. She was
predeceased by her husband, Loran Payson Sanford; two daughters,
Alice (Mrs. Lawrence Smith) and Ruby; and two sons John and
Allison. The body is at her late residence in Walton. Funeral
service will be held Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. from the Grace United
Church, Walton with Rev. Derrick Whitworth officiating. Burial
will be in the family plot in the church cemetery.

RAFUSE, G. P.
- Upper Falmouth - George Paulin Rafuse, 89, a retired farmer,
died Thursday at Payzant Memorial Hospital, Windsor. Born in
Upper Vaughan, he was the son of the late George and Hannah (Swinamer)
Rafuse. He is survived by one daughter, Dorothy (Mrs. Harley
Wilson), Upper Falmouth; one son, Murray; one sister, Lucy,
(Mrs. Karl Whitman), Upper Vaughan; three grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren. The body is at Lohnes Funeral Home,
Windsor, where funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Rev. George
Hamilton officiating.
