HORNE, Margaret
Mary - 78, of Enfield died Wednesday at home. Born in
Enfield, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Marjorie
(Horne) MacDonnell. She was a member of St. Bernard's Parish and
the Happy Days Senior Citizens Club. She is survived by four
daughters, Pauline (Mrs. Jock Stuart), Florence (Mrs. Frank
O'Neil), both of Enfield; Bernadette (Mrs. Clyde Demone),
Charlottetown; Phyllis, Beaver Bank; three sons, James and Len,
both of Enfield; Fred, Windsor; two sisters, Lydia Benere, Alma
Spinney, both of Enfield; a brother, Allan, Enfield; 28
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by
her husband, George; a son, Jack; two daughters, Erma and
Bernice; and a grand-daughter. The body is in Ettinger's Funeral
Home, Enfield. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Bernard's
Roman Catholic Church, Neil Haight officiating with burial in
parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the
Enfield and District CAMR.

Florence Gertrude - 65, of Hantsport, died Tuesday at Hants
Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Black River, she was a
daughter of the late Emery Spinney and Bessie (Schofield)
Spinney. She is survived by her common-law husband, Tom Wilson;
five daughters, Maxine (Mrs. Floyd Swinamer), Three Mile Plains;
Marie (Mrs. Fred Patterson), Woodville, Kings County; Pat (Mrs.
Hubert Gannon), Medford; Helen (Mrs. Roy Cousins), White Rock;
Gladys Miller, Dartmouth; three sons, Clarence and Ray, both of
Bishopville, and Wayne, New Minas; three sisters, Mrs. Rena
Keaton, Wolfville; Ann (Mrs. Dean Schofield), White Rock; Sandra
(Mrs. Bernard Forsythe), Wolfville Ridge; six brothers, Leo and
Blake, both of Black River; Franzel, Harlan and Frank, all of
White Rock; and Eldon, Dundas, Ont.; 24 grandchildren; and eight
great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Gerald,
and a sister, Velda. The body is in Lohnes Funeral Home,
Windsor. Funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in St. Andrew's
Anglican Church, Hantsport, Rev. Michael Boyd officiating, with
burial in Maple Wood Cemetery, Windsor. Donations may be made to
the Nova Scotia Heart Fund.

HORNE, Vincent
Carl - 63, of Oldham, Halifax County, died Monday at home.
Born in Dartmouth, he was a son of the late David and Bertha
(Cole) Horne. He was a retired construction worker and a member
of St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, Enfield. He is survived
by his wife, the former Gladys Edwards; a son Douglas, Lantz; a
daughter Florence Rushton, Oldham; a sister Verna (Mrs. James
MacDonald), Oldham; seven grandchildren. The body is at home.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Bernard's Church,
Enfield, Rev. Neil Haight officiating, with burial in the parish
cemetery.

Kathleen Mary - 73, Enfield, died Saturday in Victoria
General Hospital. Born in Enfield, she was a daughter of Blanche
(Redden) Osborne and the late John Osborne. She was a member of
St. Bernard's parish. She is survived by three daughters, Anne
(Mrs. Frank Horne), Enfield; Mrs. Margaret Greene, Dartmouth;
Marjorie (Mrs. Clarey Keyes), Lantz; one son, Gerald, Enfield;
three sisters, Mrs. Hilda Casey, Halifax; Mrs. Mae Isenor,
Lantz; Mrs. George Garden, Enfield; a brother, Harold, Enfield;
10 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter;
one sister, Nina; one grandson, Brian. The body is in Ettinger's
Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday
in St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, Rev. Neil Haight
officiating, with burial in the parish cemetery. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

HINES, James G.
- died Monday, Oct. 8, 1984, at the Market Square Health
Facility in South Paris, where he had resided since June 28 of
this year. He had resided most of his life in the East Andover
area prior to moving to the Harris Apartments in Rumford in July
of 1979. He was born Dec. 4, 1908 at Lantz, N.S., son of
Ellsworth and Stella Manley Hines. He was a longtime woodsman in
the Andover area where he had worked most of his life. A veteran
of the U.S. Army, he had served during World War II. He had
attended the South Andover Calvary Congregational Church. He was
married in Andover, Oct. 3, 1931, to Minnie Pearl White, who
survives of Rumford. Other survivors include two sons, James B.
of Rumford and Robert N. of Bridgewater, Mass.; two brothers,
John of Truro, N.S., and George of Elmsdale, N.S.; a sister,
Mrs. Mary Oldfield of Cohasset, Mass.; four grandchildren and
two step-granddaughters. Funeral services were held on Thursday
afternoon, Oct. 11, at Meader and Son Funeral Home, Rumford.
Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery, Rumford.
