RAFUSE, Leslie Allen "Paddy" - 79, Hantsport, died Thursday, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Windsor, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Ada (Benedict) Rafuse. He was employed for 38 years at Minas Basin Pulp and Power Company Ltd. He was an avid fisherman and goaltender for the Windsor Maple Leafs. He is survived by his wife, the former Edna Winnifred Gollan; two sisters, Edna (Mrs. Stewart Gordon), Dartmouth; Gladys (Mrs. Maurice Randall), Windsor, Ont.; three brothers, Ray, Greenwood; Harold, Ellershouse; Arthur, Middleton; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Hilda, Alma; two brothers, William, Clarence. The body is at Lohnes' Funeral Home, Windsor, where funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Rev. Mark Crosby officiating. Burial will be in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport.

BURGESS, Frank Allison - 76, Milton Highlands, Yarmouth County, died Saturday in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Hants County, he was a son of the late John G. and Grace (Rathburn) Burgess. He was a member of Elliott Heights Baptist Church, Hamilton, Ont. He was a member of the Masons, Windsor Branch. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving as a machinist in the Canadian Army. He owned and operated a jewellery store in Hamilton and was a salesman for Robinson's Department Store, Hamilton, for several years. He was a skilled clockmaker and watch and clock repairer until his death. He is survived by his wife, the former Lila Peters; two daughters, Barbara (Mrs. Irshad O'Shad), Toronto; Judy (Mrs. David Smith), Hamilton; a brother, Grant, Connecticut; five sisters, Marjorie Sandford, Windsor, Ont.; Madge (Mrs. Joseph Dill), Cambridge, Hants County; Alice Lockhart, Hamilton; Lillian (Mrs. Bruce Rutter), Toronto; Helen Jayne, Yarmouth; five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Doreen Misner; his second wife, Angela; a son, Robert; three brothers, Roy, Harold, Carl. The body has been cremated. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Yarmouth Wesleyan Church, Rev. J. Symonds, assisted by Rev. T. Brown, officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Donations may be made to Victoria Order of Nurses, Canadian Cancer Society or any charity.

MURPHY, Sidney Nelson - 74, Halifax, died Wednesday in Victoria General Hospital. Born in Rawdon, Hants County, he worked at Moir's Ltd. for many years. He is survived by his wife, the former Lillian McCarthy; a sister, Elsie (Mrs. Scottie Robinson), Mount Uniacke. The body was cremated. Committal service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fairview Cemetery, Halifax.

LARAWAY, Alberta Frances Horne - 52, London, Ont., formerly of Enfield, died Sunday in London. Born in Enfield, she was a daughter of Isabel (Gray) Horne, Enfield, and the late J. Burton Horne. She is survived by her husband, Peter Laraway; three sons, Mark, Martin, Timothy, all of Ontario; a brother, Martin Horne, Shearwater; eight sisters, Annie (Mrs. Albert Frame, Florence (Mrs. Edward O'Toole), Loretta (Mrs. Clifford Isenor), Catherine (Mrs. Richard Barter), Monica (Mrs. Harold Hilton), all of Enfield; Mildred (Mrs. Pierre Vialette), Marion (Mrs. Eric Maxner), both of Ontario; Thelma (Mrs. Doug Hannah), Sackville; a grandson. Funeral and burial will take place today in the Roman Catholic Church, London.

WOOD, Vernon Leon - 72, Hardwoodlands, Hants County, died Saturday in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Sandy Desert, Hants County, he was the son of the late George and Bessie (Clark) Wood. He was a resident of Hardwoodlands for over 40 years and worked as a woodsman most of his life. He is survived by two sisters, Marion (Mrs. Percy Gill), Belmont; Mrs. Lillian MacLeod, Halifax; a brother, Ora, Nine Mile River. He was predeceased by a sister, Kathleen; three brothers, Gerald, Clarence (Mack), Lawrence. The body is in Ettinger's Funeral Home, Shubenacadie, visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, and where funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Rev. Richard Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery, Nine Mile River.
