FRIZZLE, Waldo Arthur - 76, Evergreen Rest Home, Kentville, died January 26, 1993, Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Hantsport, he was a son of the late Roy and Lily (Starratt) Frizzle. He is survived by two daughters, Joyce Folker, Windsor; Joan Dion, Vancouver; two sons, Donald, Ottawa; Beverly, Hantsport; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Grace Neate, Hantsport. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Edith Caldwell; an infant son; brother, Ralph. The body has been cremated. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday in Lohnes Funeral Home, Windsor, Rev. David Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport. Donations may be made to any charity.

HORNE, Edward Andrew - 78, formerly of Enfield, died March 14, 1993 in Fairview Villa Extendicare. Born in Enfield, he was a son of the late Frank and Ellen (MacDonnell) Horne. He was employed as a carpenter in the construction industry working with his father and brother. He was also employed with the CNR until retirement. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Enfield Branch. He is survived by a brother, Hartford, Rockingham; four sisters, Mary MacLeod, Williamswood; Ruth (Mrs. Gasper Palmer), Grand Lake; Rita McKenna, Hanover, Ont.; Edith (Mrs. Earl Reid), Montreal; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Vincent. The body was cremated under the direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, Halifax. A memorial service was held at St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, Enfield, Rev. Paul Granville officiated. Burial was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.

RAFUSE, Samuel James - 74, Upper Vaughan, Hants County, died April 8, 1993, in Victoria General Hospital, Halifax. Born in Upper Vaughan, he was a son of the late David and Minnie (Armstrong) Rafuse. For the last 35 years he owned and operated Sam's Tree Farm, Upper Vaughan, where he was a lifelong resident. A carpenter by trade, he worked on a number of schools in Hants County and other construction projects throughout Nova Scotia. For four years he worked in Goose Bay, Labrador as a general contractor on the DEW line. He helped build and design the Upper Vaughan United Baptist Church, where he was a long time deacon and member. He was a member of the Welsford Masonic Lodge 26, A.F. and A.M., Windsor and Lunenburg Christmas Tree Producers Association. He is survived by his wife, the former Jenny Laura Rafuse; son, David, at home; daughter, Susan, at home; four brothers, Clark, Markus, both of Upper Vaughan; Maxwell, Halifax; Harold, New Minas; two sisters, Mildred (Mrs. Percy Levy), Vaughans; Ruby (Mrs. Herb Foreman), Surrey, BC. He was predeceased by five brothers, Donald, Clifford, Robert, Melbourne, Floyd. Visitation will be 7 - 9 pm tonight, 2 - 4, 7 -9 pm Saturday in Lindsay's Funeral Home, Windsor, where a lodge service will be 7 pm Saturday. Funeral will be 3 pm Sunday in Upper Vaughan United Baptist Church, Rev. Don Ehler officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Upper Vaughan. Donations may be made to Upper Vaughan United Baptist Church or any charity.

TOWNSEND, Mabel Lucy - 85, New Glasgow, died April 12, 1993, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Clarksville, Hants County, she was a daughter of the late Albert Frederick and Cassie (Murphy) Clark. She was a resident of New Glasgow for many years. She was a member of St. George's Anglican Church, New Glasgow, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She worked as a nurse for many years, having worked in Halifax, Kentville, Hackensack, N.J. and Botwood, Nfld. She then joined the army and was a nursing sister for five years. She is survived by two daughters, Mary (Molly) Townsend, Halifax; Charlotte (Mrs. Clint Dickson), New Glasgow; son, Henry (Harry), New Glasgow; two grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Clyde; sister, Ida Beatrice Clark; brother, Frederick; half-sister, Pearl Scott. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday in St. George's Anglican Church, Rev. Wilfred Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to Izaak Walton Killam Children's Hospital, Alzheimers Society of Nova Scotia, SPCA or Schizophrenic Society.

DALRYMPLE, John Parmer - 82, East Gore, Hants County, died April 13, 1993, at home. Born in East Gore, he was a son of the late Edgar and Bernice (Lively) Dalrymple. He worked as a lumberman all his life and was employed with Clayton Carter in Stewiacke for many years. He is survived by his wife, the former Hazel Clark; son, John, Lantz; seven daughters, Phyllis (Mrs. Loran Davis), Hillsvale, Hants County; Gloria Hines, Ontario; Juanita (Mrs. Lynn Rector), Amherst; Marjorie Blake, Shubenacadie; Marion Webb, Enfield; Thelma (Mrs. Richard Andrews), Bedford; Doreen (Mrs. Lance White), North Noel Road; companion, Corey Buchanan; brother, Ira, East Gore; sister, Edna (Mrs. Don Harvie), East Gore; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by four brothers, Clarence, Aubrey, Lee, Arthur. The body rested at Withrow-MacMillan Funeral Home, Upper Nine Mile River where funeral was held April 16, Rev. Bill Matthews officiated. Burial was Sand Hill Cemetery, Nine Mile River. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Sand Hill Cemetery or any charity.

NEATE, Grace Adelia - 73, Hantsport, Hants County, died August 2, 1993, in Eastern Kings Memorial Hospital, Wolfville. She was a daughter of the late Roy and Lillian (Starratt) Frizzle. She was a member of Hantsport Baptist Church and choir. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Lucknow Branch 109, Royal Canadian Legion, Hantsport. She is survived by three sons, Roger, Halifax; Tom, Waterville, Kings County; Gary, Dartmouth; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Joseph; two brothers, Ralph, Waldo. Cremation has taken place. Family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Lohnes Funeral Home, Windsor. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday in Hantsport Baptist Church, Rev. David Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport. Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.

LANGILLE, Carl Agustus (Barney) - 79, Hantsport, Hants County, died August 16, 1993, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Pugwash, he was a son of the late Alexander and Carrie (Murphy) Langille. He played baseball for the Hantsport Shamrocks and the Pugwash Millionaires. He was a taxi operator for many years. He was a member of Royal Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Engineers, during the Second World War. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 109, Lucknow, and Poyntz Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Reid Spence; daughter, Wendy-Lu (Mrs. Lorne Bothers), Saint John, N.B.; son, Daryl, Grand Pre; five grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Ramsey. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Lohnes Funeral Home, Windsor, where a legion service will be 7 p.m. today. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Hantsport, Rev. E. E. Hill officiating. Burial will be in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport.

Born in Newport Station, she was a daughter of the late William and Edith (Benjamin) Thompson. She was a member of St. Croix United Church. She is survived by two sons, Herbert, Mount Denson, Hants County; Richard Thompson, Bridgewater; three daughters, Norma, (Mrs. Danny Guptill), Lockhartville; Connie Weisner, Brenda (Mrs. Bert Shanks), both of Three Mile Plains; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Helen (Mrs. Eugene Kitchen), Kingsclear, N.B.; three brothers, Hughie, Lewis, both of Newport Station; Walter, Halifax. She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer "Bud"; three daughters, Patsy, Shirley, Linda; two sisters, Violet Wile (Gilbert), Muriel Burgess; five brothers, Leon, William (Bill), Charlie, James (Jim), Howard. Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. today in Upper Vaughan Baptist Church, Rev. Don Ehler officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Upper Vaughan under the direction of Lohnes Funeral Home, Windsor.
