-Don't forget that 2005 is another important year since
we are celebrating, with other Acadians around our province, the 400th
anniversary of the settlement of Port Royal in 1605, which marks the
arrival of our first ancestral families to what is now Nova Scotia.
We are commemorating as well, the 200th anniversary of the start of
the Deportation of some 10 000 Acadians from our shores. To help us
all learn more about these two events, we are in the process of researching
and accumulating information to have available to anyone who wishes
to become more informed of the significance of these in our history.
-Any questions please email sartb@hotmail.com or contact
the office at 525-2074.
