Also, where they (the many HARLOWs) originally came from in the British Isles & Ireland? They were ship-builders by trade, as was my grandfather, son of Samuel HARLOW & Mary Currie COUMANS, & grandson of James Harlow & Olivia CHADSEY, b. NS. Did any of the previous Plymouth HARLOWS go to VA & then on to wagons West? When? My descendants ended up in Oregon.

Comments:Very sorry to read of the fire at St.John's. We are not such an old community as yours, but chuches are from time to time destroyed by fire and the loss is felt by many more than the particular congregation. In the bushfires of 1983, which appopriately occurred on Ash Wednesday, the Anglican church, and much of the community, at Mount Macedon was burnt out. In the aftermath a new chuch at the bottom of the mountain was built and named the Church of the Resurrection. Best wishes for your rebuilding and restoration and amidst such devastation be of good heart. Sue

My grandfather Samuel McLean born in 1851 married Emma Dares.They moved west sometime in the late eighteen hundreds or early 20th century, with their son Sinclair (my father)and settled in Shelley, B.C. (near Prince George). I am continuing to search my family background and am now looking for information on the Dares and Rhyno families.
