Comments:Recently I became a member of the Society. I am researching my Hirtle ancesters in the Lunenburg Nova Scotia area. I would appreciate hearing from others serching the Hirtles. My grandfather either John Gordon Hirtle or Gordon Hirtle is buried in Dayspring cemetary Lunenburg with other Hirtles. This much I discovered at the 250th reunion. There were flowers on som of the other gravestones so I think there must be living folks that might be distant relatives.Hope to hear from a kin! JanConnolly

Comments:I have a big brick wall - as i cannot locate anything on these people except a 1920 cencus Lauderdale Co.; Halls township; TN 1920 Cencus william H.Mayfield head m w 23 m Alice [Mills}Mayfield wife f w 29?? Mary Little step/dau f w 5 in 1923, William Henry Mayfield, and Alice have a son, naming him William Asberry Mayfield; but then in a 1930 cencus, i find William Asberry living with his grandparents at the age of 7. This is the William Henry and wife, that i am looking for. But it seems that they just dropped off the face of the earth.So, where did his parents go? what happened to his step-sister? Is there any other children born? This has become a great big brick wall, any help will be greatly appriciated.

Comments:I am trying to find out more about my grandparents and one of their daughters. What I would like to know are the dates of their deaths and whereabouts their burials. James William Lohnes, born December 21, 1852, Middle LaHave, Lunenburg county, Nova Scotia. MaryEtta Schmeiser, born 1869. They were married May 13, 1894, church of England, LaHave, Nova Scotia. Their youngest daughter Verna Lohnes was born sometime after 1905. According to my information they all died approximately within 6 months of eachother in LaHave probably before Verna's tenth birthday. These are my mother's (Laura Greta Lohnes Walker) parents and sister.
