Meetings
The Mainland South Heritage Society meets regularly at the Captain William Spry Community Centre at 7:30 p.m. on the last Thursday of the month during the months of September to May, with the exception of December. All guests are welcome! Please see our Meeting Dates for 2007/2008.
Historic Walks
The Society used to hold a series of historic walks and members guides groups of interested parties along hiking trails while relaying the history of the area. The walks have been very popular with both young and old. People are amazed at the history that we have in Mainland South, dating back to the 1750's when a sawmill was in operation on the western side of the North West Arm. We hope to have self-guided pamphlets available in the near future.
