Thomas Barber

BROOKLAND - Thomas Barber, 80, died Tuesday at his home.
Born in Newbold, England, he was a son of the late Mr and Mrs William Barber.
He was a resident of Brookland for 38 years and was a retired farmer.
He was a veteran of the First World War.
He is survived by one daughter, Margaret (Mrs Roland Stevens), Truro;
one son, Geoffrey, Brookland and 2 grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie and several brothers and sisters.
The body is at the Mattatal Funeral Home, Truro, where funeral service will be held
2 p.m. Friday, Captain Ian MacAllister officating. Burial will be in Brookland.
Donations may be made to the Salvation Army

BARBER, Geoffrey Thomas - 85, Brookland, Pictou Co.,
passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2007, in New Glasgow.
Geoff was born June 24, 1921, in England to parents Thomas and Marjorie Barber.
He came to live at the farm in Brookland in 1936. Geoff loved the farm and the woodland.
Geoff loved to play the guitar and the mouth organ, and sing to entertain his family and friends.
He is survived by his sister, N. Margaret Stevens, Truro; niece, Sue (Martin) Cameron, Bible Hill; brother-in-law, Roland Stevens, Truro; nephew, Mark Stevens. Geoff was predeceased by his parents, Thomas (1975) and Marjorie (1950) Barber.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, both in H.W. Angus Funeral Home, 256 King St., New Glasgow, with Rev. Barb Fotheringham officiating.
Reception will follow.
Geoff will be buried at a later date in Brookland beside his parents in a private family graveside service.
Donations in memory of Geoff may be made to St. Lukes Presbyterian Church, Saltsprings, or to a charity of one's choice.
