DOREY
In 1941, Thomas William Dorey (Tim) married Lorna Spencer of Empire Vale. They made their home at Boundary Creek. They grew bananas & sugar cane. The flood of 1945 damaged their new home & flattened their banana crop.
In 1945 Tim & Lorna purchased Ted Meaney's farm & house on the highway at Walsh's Lane. As the family grew, Tim went into tomatoes. The 10 children included: Ray, Anne, Ron, Joan, Colin, Spencer, Marion, Ken, Lorna & Geoffrey.
The Doreys later bought land at Teven & Newrybar to grow cane, soybeans & macadamia nuts.
