YOUNG
James
Brown Young
James & George Young were brothers with a farming background.
They originated from Glanton Pyke in Scotland. They arrived
in Australia in about 1860. George settled on the land on
the Central Coast, while James bought land at Prospect on
the Richmond River. It is beleived that this property contained
the site where the first cedar tree was felled in 1842.
James married Maria Clement (daughter of William Clement)
& they had 10 children: George, Thomas, Ann Adams, Daisy
Powell, Caroline Young, Elizabeth Woods, Eleanor, James, May
Potts & Albert.
