Dennes dealing with Clarence River families who had come out 100 years earlier from Scotland on the "William Nicol, Midlothian, Brilliant, St George, Boyne, James Moran and Lady MacNaughton" The original bound copies of the :Daily Examiner" are held at the Clarence River Historical Society in Grafton.Some early copies are in microfiche. History of the construction of the road to the Clarence River in northern NSW . It was published in 1977 (2nd edition) Kathi Ann Gaffy may be able to help with this book. 65. Royal Commission of Inquiry on Forestry, 1907 and 1908 contained in a book on the history of the Forestry 66. 'Around the Channon' A history of it's place and people by Pauline Barratt, 1999. Introduction: The ridges and valleys of Terania and Tuntable Creek make up the area loosely referred to as The Channon. It was one of the last areas of the 'Big Scrub' to be settled. The area which Around the Channon covers includes The Channon Road, the top end of Keerong and Pinchins Lane, Terania Creek, Tuntable Creek and Koonorigan Road. These areas supplied The Channon Butter Factory when it was in operation and were serviced by The Channon businesses. Part I covers early Aboriginal significance and history of the area. Part II brings together detailed history of early settlement from the late 1800's to WWII. Part III acknowledges the families who have been in the area for three and four generations, including brief histories of their times there. The final part gives a glimpse into the more recent history of The Channon. 67.
