Our resources are held in the Port Macquarie-Hastings Library, Local Studies/Family History Room, Grant & Gordon Streets, Port Macquarie.

A member is on duty every Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00am to 3:00 pm to help with enquiries.

The society has over 700 books, covering a wide variety of subjects, which are on open shelves for all to use, whenever the library is open.  Click here for a PDF of our current holdings (updated March 2015).  (PDF 111kb)

They are listed in the online PM-H library catalogue in title order. To view: use pm* in the Simple search field, and Call No in the dropdown (anyword) box, then scroll through. They are not for loan, but there may be copies on the general library shelves available to borrow.

Resources are
colour coded and separated into: NSW regions, Family Histories, other states; Australian history, guides, indexes, convicts, immigration and shipping.   See the map on top of the shelves, to locate the colour coding for the NSW regions.

The HRA (Historical Records of Australia) sets are up on top of the shelves, on both sides. Overseas books (eg. English, Irish, Scottish and German) are located on the opposite (north) side, along with the journals. The remainder of the collection (CDs, microfiche and microfilm) is housed in locked drawers within the Local Studies Room – for use by society members.  Any others wishing  to access these resources can do so for a fee of $5 for two hours, and only when a rostered member is on duty.
