Resources

Our resources are held in the Port Macquarie-Hastings Library, Local Studies/Family History Room, Grant & Gordon Streets, Port Macquarie. A member is on duty every Tuesday from 10:00am to 3:00 pm and every Wednesday from 12:30pm to 3:00pm to help with enquiries.

The society has over 400 books, covering a wide variety of subjects, which are on open shelves and drawers for public use.

Resources are colour coded depending on the subject, eg General Convict, NSW Cemeteries, NSW by various subjects, the various States, eg, Qld, SA, Tas & WA, Shipping, English, Irish, Scottish, German, New Zealand, Family History and maps.

The remainder of the collection is housed in locked drawers in the Local Studies Room and may only be accessed by society members. If non-members wish to access these resources, they can do so for a fee of $5 for two hours, and only when a rostered member is on duty.

There are over 150 CDs, more than 450 microfiche sets and over 80 microfilms for use by researchers.
