Tenterfield GenWeb

The Tenterfield GenWeb has been set up as a transcript depot.  It is dependant upon the support of volunteers to transcribe or donate genealogical materials relating to the Tenterfield Shire.  These documents and associated links are made freely available to researchers.

Overview
Tenterfield is a town and local government area located in the New England region of northern New South Wales, Australia.  Tenterfield's proximity to many regional centres and its position between Sydney and Brisbane led to it being a centre for the promotion of Federation of the Australian States. Sir Henry Parkes (pictured in the Tenterfield GenWeb logo) delivered his Federation Speech in the town of Tenterfield in 1889 whilst en route from Brisbane to Sydney.
