- Meetings of the Group are held at 7.00pm on the 2nd Thursday night of each month between February and November at Wyong Community Cultural Centre, 6 Rankens Court, Wyong (For directions, see the map at top of this page and hover over it)
- 'The Cottage' with its resources and research assistance is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 10.00am and 3.00pm (with an extension on the second Thursday of the month to the start of the monthly meeting at 7.00pm) at 'The Cottage' Wyong Community Cultural Centre, 6 Rankens Court, Wyong.
Members : free
Non-members : $5.00 per hour - Workshop are held on the 3rd Saturday of each month between 10.00am and 2.00pm at the Tuggerah Information Centre (Library), Westfield Shopping Centre, Cobbs Rd, Tuggerah, NSW
- WFHG's shop at 'The Cottage' has all the stationary requirements to do your Family History; charts, pens, folders, plastic sleeves, dividers, gift charts & much more including publications both ours and others. Good quality bone china mugs with the WFHG logo. 'The Cottage' coordinators or Trish McDonald will be happy to show you what's available.

The Family Historian Users Interest Group will be held on the third Thursday of the month and commences on 15th March. This group is for those using Family Historian or are interested in doing so. See Reviews and Awards- SAG is running an Irish Focus Day on Saturday 3rd March at the Bowlers Club - 99 on York, 99 York St, Sydney
- Scotland’s People will be available in 'The Cottage' rooms from Wednesday 15th February. We will start with purchasing a low amount of credits. Trish McDonald will supervise the use of the website on Wednesday afternoons. Bookings will be needed as this is not a subscription. You will be limited to a set time.
- Google has announced that as from 1st March 2012, it will operate under one single Privacy Policy.
- Worried about your computer's security? This article gives some balance to counter the scaremongering which flies around. It's also a good site to subscribe to their newsletter to learn more about using your computer. See the bottom right before the comments.
- Frank is holding a workshop called "Researching Genealogy in France" on 21st February from 1.00pm to 3.00pm The cost is $4. If there is sufficient interest this will probably grow into a French Interest Group. See TOL for phone number
- The Australian Generations Oral History Project is a new national project, and it needs volunteers.
Historians at Monash (Professor Al Thomson, Associate Professor Christina Twomey and Dr Seamus O’Hanlon) and La Trobe Universities, in partnership with ABC Radio National and the National Library of Australia, are collecting life story interviews with Australians born from the 1920s to the 1980s.
They are interested in the life stories of all Australians – rural and urban; male and female; the recently arrived and people whose families have lived in Australia for generations. The collection of interviews (over 1500 hours worth) will provide a snapshot of historical change in Australia throughout the 20th and into the 21st century and will be used by the research team in written histories and in a series of ABC Radio National history programs. The interviews will then be archived at the National Library of Australia (NLA) in Canberra.

- Jan Barrett is co-ordinating the transcription of records from Simplicity Funerals and would like to hear from members who would be interested in helping her. She is doing it in her home at Charmhaven. Friday is the most convenient day but Jan is open to negotiations on other days and times. If you have some time to spare just give her a call (See TOL for phone number)
- Members' Interests forms are open. They will stay open till the end of February 2012. Download the forms and place in the Webmaster's (John Owen) drawer in the office at 'The Cottage'.
- WFHG is working on updating the various Pioneer Registers into one volume and at the same time it is adding new entries to it. If you can provide information, please download the two forms and submit them. To download click on the image; expand it too its largest size; right-click and Save Image As... to an appropriate folder from which you can print it.
