Alishia Heaney Headstone, Lone Mountain Cemetery, Carson City, NV Her husband Bernard Heaney was a baker and is listed in the first directory of Carson City, 1862. They do appear in the 1860 US Census for Carson City. I do not have a death date or place of death for him. As they were young he may have remarried. Her son Hiram served in the Civil War from CA. Her daughter Mary Ann came to San Francisco and married John Henry Donovan. The children of that union are my line. There is a family story that Alichia would take the left over bread from her husband and leave it outside for the Indians during a smallpox or chicken pox epidemic. I have yet to verify that information Photos taken by Bill Cook, CC County Administrator, 4/27/2005 for Gayle Simons |
