This photo was taken by the famous C. E. Watkins, an early photographer of scenic views, many of which became stereographic cards. His views of Yosemite were partially responsible for the establishment of the National Park system. It is in the possession, and used with the permission, of Liz Fairchild who has provided a great deal of the information in this site.
