 THE NEVADA DESERT is published nine times a year (September through May) and contains eight pages per issue. Each issue contains announcements of forthcoming meetings and speakers, as well as coverage of the past month's guest speaker and contents of the lecture. Major articles can be Nevada related or of general genealogical interest. In 2001, an ISSN number was obtained from the Library of Congress. It is ISSN 1536-9579. Permanent depositories for all issues are the LDS Family History Center, Salt Lake City, Utah and the Nevada State Historical Society in Reno, Nevada.

                 THE NEVADA DESERT, Newsletter of the Nevada State Genealogical Society, sent to all members, is also available by subscription. An annual subscription consists of 9 monthly issues, which are published  September  through May . Annual cost for the subscription is $10.00. For gift subscriptions, a note will be sent to the recipient advising who provided the gift. The entire 9 issues will be sent, even if joining as a member or subscribing later into the year.
