History

The Silver State Chapter was organized on 7 September 1991 and has members all over the country, not only in Southern Nevada. Silver State was chosen as the chapter name, to honor Nevada´s common nickname - the SILVER STATE. This is due to the huge amounts of silver ore taken from the many mines in Nevada. Boulder City is located just a few miles from Lake Mead and was founded in 1931 to house the workers at Hoover / Boulder Dam.
