CARPENTER, CATHARINE  (1806-1872)  Wife of William S. Carpenter.

CARPENTER, CLARA ESSEX  Died at Athens, Tenn., Feb. 19, 1944, at the age of 72 years.  She was born in Angelica and was the daughter of Richard and Eliza Lowell Carpenter, one of nine sisters, only surviving, Mrs. Harriet Currier of Andrews Settlement, Pa.  She taught school for over 50 years.  Burial in Angelica.  Lot 12.

CARPENTER, HENRY  Born in Angelica in 1838; died at the age of 72 on June 27, 1910.  Survivors:  sisters, Mrs. Emily Cooley and Mrs. Kate Cuthbert of Angelica; brother, Samuel Carpenter, Allentown.  Lot 652.

CARPENTER, HENRY  Mr. Henry Carpenter aged 75 years, veteran of the Civil War, a resident of Birdsall nearly all his life, died at the home of his nephew, Moses Carpenter, on Friday, Nov. 2, 1917.  Mr. Carpenter was at one time Supervisor of Birdsall and also held the office of Town Clerk.  Funeral services were held on Sunday and the remains were brought to the Angelica cemetery for burial.  Lot 160.

CLARK, LAWRENCE D.  Died Thursday morning, December 31, 1914, after a lingering illness of several months.  Mr. Clark was 72 years of age and was born in Allen.  The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Effie Clark, one daughter, Mrs. Charles Bullock of Buffalo, two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Alta Vail, Mrs. Imogene Worden, and C. CLOSSER, CAROLINE  Born July 28, 1883, Sagerstown, Pa., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Green.  Married Frederick Closser in Aug. 1901.

CLOSSER, CHARLES H. Born in Angelica on November 17, 1874 of Jeremiah and Melvina Hamilton Closser; died on May 28, 1953.  Married November 16, 1904, to Miss Augusta L. Isaman. ANNA SCHOLES  Born in Annalore, Ireland of Andrew and Margaret Elliott Scholes on Sept. 1, 1852; died January 30, 1945.  On Sepember 26, 1871, she married Robert Commons, who died September 21, 1907. Survived by grandson, Capt. Robert Commons of the U.S. Army, and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Inez Fay Commons of Andover, Burial in Angelica.  Lot 275.

COMMON, MRS. MARGARET E. LYON  Born in Birdsall on Aug. 27, 1870, of Nelson and Melissa Warner Lyon, one of seven daughters and two half-sisters and two half-brothers.  Died Feb. 11, 1954.  Married James Common on Dec. 19, 1899, who died Feb. 2, 1929.  Survived by daughter, Mrs. Edward Dorsey; two sisters, Mrs. Bert Green of Olean and Mrs. Nettie Wallace, Angelica.  Burial in Angelica.  Lot 832.

COMMON, RALPH  Died June 24, 1917 in Bennetts, Colorado.  He had gone to Colorado some months ago suffering with tuberculosis, in the hope that the climate would benefit his health.  His mother and brother, Arthur, have been there with him for some time.  The remains accompanied by his mother, arrived here and funeral services will be held in the Methodist Church Friday afternoon at two o'clock.  Lot 275.

COMMON, ROBERT  Born in 1769 in Northumberland, England, of John and Isabel Wandlas Common; died in 1843.  Married Elizabeth Armstrong who died in 1858.  Came to Angelica in 1818.  Their children:  John, William, Robert, Thomas, Isabel, Edmond, Jane, Sarah, and James.  Burial in Angelica.  Lot 531.

COMMON, ROBERT  Died in Limestone March 27, 1890, at the age of 83 years.  Lived many years in Angelica.  Last living but one (Miss Sarah Common) of six brothers and three sisters.  Only daughter, Mrs. Drehmer of Limestone.  Was School Commissioner, 1837, 38.  Burial in Angelica.  Lot 588.

COMMON, ROBERT  Robert Common was born May 18, 1839, at Angelica, NY.  He married Anna Scholes on September 26, 1871.  Issue: John R., Arthur A., Ralph Raymond; died September 21, 1907, at Angelica, NY.  Burial in Until the Day Dawn Cemetery, Lot 275.

CRANDALL, MRS. SALLY  Born in Nunda, Dec. 3, 1846; died Mar. 3, 1935.  She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Spencer.  Married Lewis Crandall in 1866.  Children:  Ida Belle, Mrs. Lemuel West, deceased; son Herman of Angelica.  Burial in Angelica.  Lot 26.

CRANDALL, SIDNEY  Son of William Crandall.  Superintendent of Poor for three years.  Came to Angelica in 1892 to take over duties.

CRANE, PERMELIA GRISWOLD LAMPHERE  Permelia Griswold Crane, the daughter of Samuel J. and Clarrissa Pettingill Griswold, born in the town of Almond, NY, May 10, 1823.  She was married to Gardis Lamphere in the year of 1853.  Issue: one son.  Mr. Lamphere died in 1857.  She later married John Crane.  She died December 24, 1900, having been predeceased by her second husband.  Burial in Angelica.

CRAWFORD, JOHN H.  Born at Phillips Creek, April 6, 1851; died July 21, 1931.  One of 11 children, three boys and eight girls.  Son of John J. and Nancy Crawford.  Married on Mar. 24, 1875 to Adellia Palmer who died.  To this union five children were born:  Bert, Grace, Almon, Edith, and Ernest.  Married Nancy Morehouse of Genesse County in 1844.  Came to Angelica and built his home (the present Rev. E. L. Eldredge house).  Also a store between them and the Bertelle Jones house.  His wife and five children preceded him in death.  Three children survive.  Lot 557.

CURTISS ED.  Mr. Curtis had been at the County Home for a few months and had a very bad breach; died from hemorrhage of the bowels, July 1881.

CURTIS, EDWARD B.  Born in Friendship, Sept. 12, 1890; died on May 12, 1925, in Detroit.  Early life spent in Angelica.  In 1914 he attended the Binghamton Bible School where he specialized in music.  At the beginning of the World war he enlisted in the navy where he was appointed assistant to the chaplain and leader in chorus work. He was honorably discharged after the war.  He was married to Mrs. Blanche Williams, April 15, 1925.  His widow was seriously ill in Detroit and was unable to attend the funeral; other survivors: parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Curtis; brothers, Robert, Raymond and William; sisters, Mrs. Charles Lord, Mrs. Clarence Tucker, Mrs. Henry A Weidman, Mrs. Russel Rook and Miss Almeda Curtis. Lot 837.

CURTIS, ELLEN .THEERLINGER  Born at Morrisburg, Canada, Jan. 17, 1864; died Aug. 27, 1953.  Widow of Frank Curtis.  Survived by three sons, Robert of Fairport, Raymond of East Rutherford, N.J.; and William of Hornell; three daughters, Mrs. Grace Lord and Mrs. Almeada Hargraves of Hornell and Mrs. Ethel Weidman of Angelica; brother, Frank Theerlinger of Pontiac, Mich.; one sister, Mrs. Mary Street, Rome, N.Y. To this union nine children were born:  Robert A. of Bradford, Pa.; Mrs. Grace Lord of Hornell; Mrs. Bessie Tucker of Dansville; Mrs. Ethel Weidman of Angelica; Raymond L. of Carlton Hill, N.J., William H. of Hornell, Almeda J. Hargraves of Angelica, also Edward B. Curtis who died May 12, 1925; and Millicent J. Rook, who died Mar. 7, 1937.  Survived by widow and 7 children; one brother, J. W. Curtis of Fillmore; and sister, Mrs. E. W. Wolfe, of Washington, D.C. Burial in Angelica.
