NEILSON, WILLIAM Constable, 1806; Post Master, 1813, 1817-1825; Town Clerk, 1823-1825; Election Inspector, 1823-1825. NELSON, MARY S. Lot 393 NEWMAN, H. LEE Born in Randolph, N.Y., May 12, 1884; died November 12, 1946. A son of Wilson Jay and Anna Newman. His father was an architect and designed buildings at the Randolph Home and many buildings in Randolph and Olean. H. L. Newman came to Angelica in 1908 with the Pittsburgh, Shawmut and Northern Railroad and was the maintenance engineer for many years, and also designed all the buildings. Always civic minded, Mr. Newman was trustee of the Angelica Water Board for many years, and president of the Board of Education for twelve years. When Angelica put electricity in the town in 1923 he planned the street the lighting. He never refused to do anything that was asked of him for the betterment of the town. He was a member, vestryman and treasurer of St. Paul's Episcopal Church for over 30 years; member of Melrose Lodge No. 818 F. & A.M.; Wellsville Chapter B.R.A.M.- and Corning Consistory, and past secretary and treasurer of the Allegany County Scottish Rite Association. He is survived by his widow, Lucile Thornton Newman; a son, John Thornton Newman; a sister, Mabel Adele Newman of Olean, and a brother, Herbert Jay Newman of Parsons, West Virginia, and several nieces and nephews. Buried in Angelica. NEWMAN, Mrs. H. LEE Died February 17, 1920. Former Jane Gillies Wescott, she was born in Mt. Morris, March 2. On July 19, 1916 she was married to H. Lee Newman of this town.
