Teaching Staff at Belmont High School, 1932-1933
Teaching Staff In Belmont Is Announced Today. Belmont, Sept. 10-- Belmont High School opened its doors for the 1932-1933 year under the leadership of Principal F. M. Strate, who is starting his second year as supervising principal. The new commercial course with Professor David Coyle as teacher has attracted many new pupils, some of them from out of town and some of the former graduates. The faculty numbers seventeen as follows:
- Principal, F. M. Strate;
- vice principal, H. Howbridge;
- commercial department, David Doyle;
- physical education, Joseph Paone;
- music and drawing, Katherine Klubert;
- home economics, Eleanor Peacey;
- English, Mrs. Ida May;
- languages, Alice Birkholz;
- history and library, Dorothy Gibson;
- eight grade, Mrs. Mabel Lowe;
- seventh grade, Mrs. Sarah F. Lovell;
- sixth grade, Martha Hazzard;
- fifth grade, Helen Dougherty;
- fourth grade, Helen Scherer;
- third grade, Grace Marriner;
- second grade, Mrs. Mavis Schaill;
- first grade, Oriole Graves.
The enrollment in the High School department is the largest in years, numbering 113 and 250 are enrolled in the grades.
