Friendship Chronicle Notes & Index

notes and index by Karen Bush

The Friendship Chronicle was a weekly Democratic newspaper owned by Raymond C. Hill, which began publication on Feb. 11, 1880 in the town of Friendship, Allegany Co., New York.  In August, J. Welland Hendrick purchased half-ownership of the paper and took over editing duties.  Raymond Hill retired from the paper in January 1881. Mr. Hendrick continued publishing the paper until August 1881 when the final issue was printed.

This is an index of my personal notes from the Friendship Chronicle.  This paper is microfilmed and available through the Inter-library-loan from the New York State Library.  Some of the items have been posted to the NYAllega-L Mailing list and can be found by searching the archives.  Check the Obituary page for death items.  For items not linked or in the archives, contact Karen Bush. Subject line - Chornicle Look-up Request.     Please - no blanket surname requests - only one name or item per email.
