I am trying to find the identity of a Julia Ann ____ who married Isaac

BREWER prior to January of 1827 when their son, Myron Charles BREWER, was

born in Binghamton. She had at least 3 daughters born after Myron; Mary,

Julia Ann and Amelia. As Isaac was born abt. 1802 and had lived in Union

and Chenango, Broome Co, for several years prior to his marriage, it is

probable that Julia Ann was a local girl. Does anyone have a Julia Ann born

A new message, "Seth Gardner & Alma Howland of Deposit, CA 1830 - 40,"

was posted by Howland@hooked.net on Tue, 07 Mar 2000

Surname: Howland, Gardner

---

NAME: Howland@hooked.net

EMAIL: Howland@hooked.net

DATE: Mar 07 2000

QRYTEXT: Seth Gardner of Deposit married Alma Howland probably ca 1820. I am trying to trace descendants.

The Howland family ended up in Laurens, New York. A Charles Howland d. 1839 and took up permanent residence in the Laurens Village Cemetery. He was her father.

Charles Howland b. Jan 1, 1772 eldest son of Charles Howland and Lavinia Mosher of Dutchess County, New York married Sarah ____. According to notes left by my great grand father about the family, he settled somewhere near Cooperstown, New York. Franklyn Howland, book on the Howlands in America published in the 1885, he stated that there were 6 children. I believe that the family ended up in Laurens because the names on some of the grave stones in the Laurens Village Cemetery are similar to other family names. Charles' younger brother's children Seneca settled in South Danby, N.Y. Franklyn Howland in his book published in 1885 as a partial list, to which I had added according to what appears to be correct from headstone records. Can you help me with their marriages and/or descendants? Birth order is not known.

1. Lydia Howland

2. Alma Howland who married Seth Gardner of Deposit, N.Y.

3. Abigail Howland

4. Mary Howland

5. Albert Howland

6. *William Howland, (died 1843, Laurens, Ostego, NY)

7. *Phebe Howland, d. 1810, Laurens probably about age 10.

8. *Lavinia Ann Howland, d. 1837, Laurens,

* Not in the Franklyn Howland book

Charles was the eldest of eight children. The others were; Benjamin, George, Seneca, Jonathan, Deborah, James and Cook. Seneca settled in Danby, then Tioga county in 1804; Benjamin went to New York City; Jonathan settled in Hyde Park in Duchess county and died in 1850; George went to Charleston, S. Caroline with brother James, they both got yellow fever, and both died. Deborah married Nathan Jones in 1803. Cook died Oct. 10, 1798.

Charles is the son of Charles Howland and Lavinia Mosher. Charles was the only son of Cook Howland and Ruth Bennett of Little Compton, R.I.. Cook had two daughters, Lydia and Deborah but I do not believe they had issue. Ruth Bennett is a Mayflower line back to Warren, Mullins, and Alden. Cook was a younger son of James, the son of Nathaniel, son of Zoeth, son of Henry, son of Henry.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Broome County,

In my search for my Tarbox/Lindsay family I have found my way to Broome

County. The latest information I have is dated 12 June 1855 when they

had lived in the town of Sanford, County of Broome, NY:

John Tarbox 36 M Pa teamster

Demares 31 F wife Pa

Sally H w f child Delaware

George L. 12 m child Delaware

Charles L. 8 m child Penna

Homer S. 5 m child Delaware

John E. 2/12 m child Delaware

Sally Lindsay 58 f mother Essex

There should also have been a Henry Tarbox born 1852, but I do not find

him listed. I believe the Delaware to mean Delaware County, NY, but have

not found records yet. I am hoping to not only find the members of this

family, but the parents of John and Demares and where they would have

located. Any help would be so much appreciated. I have searched a long

time for these people, my gggrandparents.

Thank you in advance for any help.

My Greatgrandmother, Mary Simons, was born in Broome County in 1852, according to the 1865 census for Gilboa, county of Schoharie, NY. How could I best go about obtaining a copy of her birth record? My best guess is that she was born in the Binghamton area.

QRYTEXT: I am looking for help in finding where burial places might be near Nineveh, NY. Our family history says that Philadelphia Taylor, m. Nathaniel Nicholas (might be spelled Nichols or other variations), was buried at Nineveh, NY. If anyone has possible cemeteries, or has any information available I would really appreciate it. She was born about 1800, her daughter Elizabeth, m. John Delane Fletcher Brink, was born 1836. Her husband, Nathaniel Nicholas died, I believe before her, and is buried near Abbington, Luzerne Co, PA, so he probably will not be listed with her. I do not even have a guess on her death date, just after 1836. Any help or clues at all would be wonderful. Please email me directly also so I don't miss the information. Many thanks. My great grandfather, Casper Butler, was Protestant, and lived in Genesee Forks in 1890 when my grandmother, Mabel, was born. His wife was also his cousin, they were probably divorced, and he reportedly died in Binghamtom. I know nothing about Casper's family - it's possible he was related to other Butlers in Broome Co., and that's why he moved there. Thanks again. I am waiting to hear from an elderly aunt in PA. She may have more info, I'll let you know. (I'm writing from CO).
