Query: Looking for a complete list of the children of Leman Mason who lived in Colesville Township from about 1840 until his death. He was the son of Capt. Luther Mason and his wife, Polly Catlin, both of whom are buried in Stowe Cemetery, Windsor, NY (aka Lyons Farm Cemetery). Some of Leman's children are mentioned in his biographical section of the Broome Co. History but I suspect there may have been more, especially females. His bio stated that there were eight children but I have been able to account for only five of them. I am trying to prove the parentage of my great grandmother, Sophia Mason Wilsey b. March 11, 1818, d. August 11, 1900. Sophia is buried in Emmanuel Episcopal Church Cemetery, Stamford, CT, next to her daughter, Margaret Wilsey Trowbridge. Sophia married William Wilsey on December 31, 1838 in New Milford, Susquehanna Co, PA. Any leads would be appreciated.
Also, any leads as to when Leman died or where he is buried will also be of great help. Thanks.

He is of the right age to be John Demarest Bancroft, half-brother of my great-grandfather Ira Bancroft. The 1860 census lists him with a wife, Laura, and a 10-year-old child Mary Caty. A Mary C was also listed with a John D. and Laura Bancroft in the 1850 census for Bainbridge, Chenango Co., NY. Also enumerated with the family in 1850 were William O., 19; Almira, 8; and a Mary Birdsall, 80. A search of the Broome Co. Gen Web site shows a William O. Bancroft married Jane Martin 24 Jun 1857. Also, several entries in the Resource List for a Dr. John D. Bancroft's day book.
