Tonawanda Indian Reservation
My friend, Ellen Bachorski, and myself walked this cemetery on September 23, 1999. I also received in
the mail an updated list I requested from the Veterans Administration in Batavia. Their response to my request was
very quick. I received the information the same week I called!
There were several burials without markers. Some were also in the woods. We recorded as many inscriptions
as we could find. Terry Abrams also recorded inscriptions here. I figure, if we compare notes, between the two of
us maybe we will get all most all of the burials. This is still an active cemetery, by the way. Here are some
picturesque photos of this quiet secluded cemetery and the tombstone inscriptions collected on our walk.
