In the mid 1960's a group of local historians and members of the Owasco, NY Chapter of the DAR compiled a 10 volume listing of Cayuga County , NY cemetery records.  These books generally cite the name and date (or year) of death as referenced in actual cemetery records or as contained on cemetery headstones.  Copies of these cemetery index volumes are available for research in the Local History Room of Seymour Public Library, The Cayuga County Historian's Office and Luther Research Center at the Cayuga-Owasco Lakes Historical Society.  A complete set was also placed in the The Cayuga County Records Mgmt. Office in the early 1960s without a notice of copyright protection.  The copies of each volume as contained in the library, County Historian's Office, and the Luther Research Center contain individual surname indexes.  The following is a list of the Cemeteries as cited in these cemetery index books.   Often we have provided links to web sites that provide available cemetery burial records or inventories of headstone information. 

Note that this "On-Line Listing" of cemetery records was achieved with the help of many volunteers who transcribed this information into a digital computer format.  The origin of these cemetery record compilations, came from various sources.  Most sources are cited at the top and/or bottom of the individual cemetery record page sites, along with the name of the person who transcribed the records into a digital format.  Most were compiled in the mid 1960's and will not cite burials after that date.  Be aware that many of these lists are only an inventory of information obtained from available, legible headstones at a specific point in time.  It is possible that additional burials may exist, but could not be documented or defined by existing records or legible headstones.  These on-line records should be considered as a research tool and a secondary records source only!  The information provided is intended for personal genealogy and local history research.  We do not guarantee the contents of research materials and/or the expertise of any transcribers, professional researchers or look-up volunteers.
