Dear Mr. Corcoran:

Thank you for the information contained in the 1855 Census. It is most interesting and helpful in genealogical research. In drawing off the records for my families I have found some corrections that you may wish to adjust and that must be the result of the enumerator misspelling or illegible handwriting:

Elect/Dwell 2/238 Patison, Abigail, 56, Widow, Born Conn., Yrs in Town 23, Landowner.
The family name should be PATTERSON  Note: This correction applies to all members of that household; namely, Wm. F, Mary J. Stephen E. and John A.

1/153 Winegar, Samuel R., 39, head, Saratoga, Yrs in Town 4, Landowner.
Samuel R. should be Samuel K[arner] (He went by the name of Karner).

1/145 Winegar, Erik M, 46, Montgomery, Yrs in Town 6/12, Manufacturer, Landlowner.
This should be ESEK M[osher] Winegar

1/145 Winegar, Laura, 53, sister, Columbia, 6/12

I question her family name. Esek Winegar did not have a sister by this name; and since Laura indicates Columbia to be her birth place, it might be that she is the sister of Esek's wife, Salina who was born in Columbia County.Family records do not give Salina's maiden name; and there is some question as to her given name.

I hope that the above may be of interest to you; and if you have further questions, I can be reached by email at mhecht7725@aol.com.
Kind regards.
Lydia Patterson Hecht
