As you are looking through the index you will see some page numbers that are followed by an "x". The "x" will indicate a record found in the City of Auburn. We had to assign this "x" as the stamped page numbers, beginning in the 3rd Ward - City of Auburn, are already used in one of the other two microfilms. The numbers in the 2nd Ward are not repeated elsewhere in the census but we wanted to keep the City of Auburn transcription uniform. This "x" DOES NOT appear on the actual microfilm.
