| HOWLAND HOMESTEAD, formerly owned by Judge Walter Wood, of whom it was purchased by Benjamin Howland, who settled here with his wife, Mary Howland and five children, in March, 1798. The house, which they erected at that time is today (1903) a substantial dwelling and apparently good for another century. The homestead comprises one hundred and thirty-five acres and is owned by the Slocum Howland Estate. | |||
