| ROSE HILL POULTRY AND DAIRY FARM
is owned by E. L. Ferris. Postoffice address, Poplar Ridge, N. Y.
This farm consists of ninety acres, located on Ridge Road, six miles from
Aurora and sixteen from Auburn; from King Ferry four miles. There is an abundance
of fruit at "Rose Hill." Poultry and dairying are the chief resources. The
building improvements are such as reflect credit upon its proprietor; they
are both modern and convenient. Mr. Ferris takes much pride in his poultry,
which consists of White Leghorns, Black Minorcas and other varieties, keeping
a large number on hand for breeding purposes. Running water is supplied to
the buildings and fields, and a water trough is placed for the benefit of
the public; there is an excellent timber lot of nine acres. S. Wheeler
was a previous owner, of whom the farm was purchased by Mr. Ferris in 1894.
Mr. Ferris is a native of Cayuga County, born in 1829. He married Miss
M. A. Jackson in 1854; she was a native of England. Their family consists
of a son and daughter; the son assists his father in the management of the
farm. |
